What is Stacks?
Stacks keeps what you look up on X, LinkedIn, YouTube and the web: articles, posts, videos, notes and highlights. It connects them to ChatGPT and Claude, so you can ask about them later and get answers that come from your own sources.
How do I use Stacks inside Claude or ChatGPT?
Add Stacks as a connector with the URL https://app.betterstacks.com/api/mcp and sign in with your Stacks account. There is no token to copy, and setup takes about two minutes. Claude and ChatGPT then get three tools: recall searches your saves, get reads one in full, and save keeps a new link or note. The step-by-step guide is at betterstacks.com/mcp.
Does the connector work on the free plan?
Yes. The connector works on every plan. Search by meaning is part of the paid and lifetime plans. On the free plan, search works by keyword.
What does search by meaning do?
It finds a save from a description, even when you don’t remember the title. Our founder remembered only "a sales data room starting with buyer…", and Stacks found Buyerstage. On the free plan, search matches keywords instead.
Which browsers does the extension support?
Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Extension 4.0 adds the ⌘⇧K command bar, Send to… for passing a page to your AI with an instruction, highlights, a "Saved in Articles ▾" control that shows where a page went, and a "From your Stacks" card next to Google results.
Can I bring in my X bookmarks and LinkedIn saved posts?
Yes, on every plan, including the free one. Your X bookmarks and LinkedIn saved posts sync into Stacks on their own. YouTube and Pinterest are coming. You can also save any page from the browser, the app or the mobile apps.
I bought a lifetime deal. What happens to my plan?
You keep everything you bought. Lifetime plans include search by meaning and the connector for Claude and ChatGPT.
Does Stacks work on mobile devices?
Yes. Stacks is available on iOS and Android, so your saves are with you on every device.
Who can see my saves?
Your saves are private unless you choose to share them. Claude and ChatGPT can reach your Stacks only after you sign in and allow it, and they can search, read and add but never delete. Remove the connector and their access stops.
